Let's say that your Mom is with you you all the time : no matter where you are and what you're doing. Would you still be comfortable to go to the places you go and do the things you're doing fearlessly ?
You don't want no trouble, right ?
So you would try to be always clean and irreproachable in your actions and behaviors because you have so much respect for her and you wouldn't want her to see you doing bad things cause she has invested so much in you and you don't want to disappoint her.
But let me remind you that Someone more important than your parents who has given His Son's life for you is with you all the time.
History Check
Back in the days, the Israelites needed to go to the tabernacle and later the Temple to get into the Presence of God and it wasn't permitted to anyone at any time
But once Jesus died, the veil of the temple got ripped up so we have full access to communicate with God if we believe in the Sacrifice of His Son
Once we receive Jesus as Our Lord and Savior our body becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit which means that the Presence of God is within us and we take it with us everywhere we go. We don't have to go to a temple because we are the temple.
Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you and was given to you by God. You do not belong to yourself
1 Corinthians 6 verse 19
And as the Temple, we have to be acceptable and inviting for God. Clean and Holy.
So take a look at yourself.
Do you honor the Presence of God that is within?
If you were able to see Him would you still be doing the same stuff?
Would you still have the same lifestyle?
Are you taking yourself to places where the Holy Spirit can get uncomfortable ?
Are you feeding your spirit with things the Holy Spirit doesn't love.
As a human, you can struggle with sin but it is a problem when you willingly chose to live with it comfortably.
And remember that no one can serve two masters. You're going to have to pick a side anyway and since God is jealous, standing on the fence means that you're still attached to sin and that you don't want to surrender to Him.
You're going to be an environment (temple) anyway so you're going to have to decide who this temple is going to be welcoming for.
If you're truly seeking God and doing your best to be holy and live a righteous life, then you will be an acceptable for the Holy Spirit.
But if you're out there living comfortably in sin even if you don't say it out loud, you give gateways to the enemy to operate into your life.
Not picking God with all your heart is picking the devil even unconsciously
So I encourage you to let the Holy Spirit guide your lives, so you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves Galatians 5v16
Remember : You won't overcome anything by your own strength but by The Spirit of God.
So I'm leaving you with this question.
Is your Temple acceptable for the Holy Spirit ?
