Own it and surrender it to God

Hello everyone

It’s been a long time since I haven’t posted anything here. I was working on another project and I got myself trapped into this idea that I have to choose a niche, but here I am back again, embracing my multidimensional personality that can’t help but being involved in so many different interests.

After having a conversation with a friend, the Holy Spirit putted this in my mind less than a month ago but I never worked any further on it or even posted it.

One story that pretty much all of us know in the Bible is the story of King David. He was one of the rare people or maybe even the only person to be described as “A man after God’s own heart”

Was he perfect? No

Did he ever sin? Yes, absolutely

But one thing we fail to understand, is that God doesn’t expect perfection from us, He knows what we are made of. He wants our heart, raw and real as a living sacrifice so He can work with it. The point is not relying on our own abilities, it’s relying on His.

But in order to be able to bring something to God, you have to own it. Do not try to run away and refuse the responsibility or your actions or hide the state of the current situation. That’s not it works.

Come to God in every situation just like David.

When he was left a shepherd, humiliated and left aside by his own family, for some reason, he remained grateful, humble and ready for the Lord.

When he had to fight Goliath, he didn’t try to run away. I am pretty sure he was scared, but regardless, He faced the enemy and walked towards him with the Power of the Almighty God.

When he had to run away from Saul, who, in fact, wanted to kill him, he remained faithful, accountable, teachable and dependent on God.

When he became a King, when everything went well in his life and he felt good about himself, he knew how to receive the joy and praised God for all the blessings.

When he slept with a married woman and then, got his husband killed, two sins punishable by death according to the Law, he didn’t try to hide when Prophet Nathan confronted him about them but he accepted God’s wrath and fasted for forgiveness. He humbled himself before the Lord.

In every circumstance, he owned every single thing that was happening in his life. He never tried to throw some things away but he also knew that he wasn’t strong enough to carry those weights by himself so he brought all of them to God who remained faithful and helped him.

So no matter what you’re facing, a trial or even a blessing you think you don’t deserve, remember that God is Almighty and bring your stuff to Him.

P.S Do not pick and choose, bring everything.
