Fine, you're right !

Hello everyone.

Sorry for my long and unexcused absence, I didn’t meant to but I had obligations.

Today’s episode is going to be short, simple and precise.

As a so called Mrs. Know-it-All, one thing I always hear is: “You always have to be right”, argument that is only used as a last resort when they ain’t got any arguments left. And often times, I get both amused and offended. It took me long to realize that I’ve been missing the point my entire life.

When you’re having a discussion or an argument with someone, it’s not about being right, it’s actually about figuring out what is right. I know that won’t make sense right away.

So you better listen to the person you’re arguing with, make sure you understand his point, the reason why he/she sees things this way and make sure the person reciprocates. It’s not a fight.

Even though you have different approaches to the topic, it is possible that none of you is actually on the best or the worst path. Everything that comes out of your mouth won’t necessarily be a 100% correct, but every single argument, correct or not, is necessary in order to get the perfect conclusion.

By identifying the good and bad points, combining the good ones, you will be able to figure out the best thing you can learn from this argument. But we are so caught up in our egos that we refuse to open our eyes and our minds and we choose dwell in our own little bubble because we are too prideful to acknowledge the fact that our perception of things isn’t the best. Once you get this, you will no longer be offended by the other’s argument, but you will try to analyze it because it’s all about learning, not winning.

In our society, we unfortunately tend to perceive arguing as a synonym of fighting but it is time to understand that actually, it’s a way to learn, to grow intellectually and improve our relationships and understanding of each other as social creatures.

Thanks for reading today’s episode, I hope y’all loved it and learned something from it.

I love you but God loves you more.
